🐟 Earlier this winter, we released 23 endangered Trout Cod into the ACT to bolster our local population. 🧬 Here’s how it went down! ▶️ Trout Cod are one of seven protected fish species in the ACT. If you catch a protected fish, you must release it with as little injury as possible. 🎥 These gorgeous male Trout Cod are getting very comfortable around their new nest boxes in the ACT. This footage is courtesy of the University of Canberra and shows male Trout Cod also known as Bluenose Cod, inspecting and cleaning the nest boxes prior to spawning. We are very hopeful that there will be some spawning events after some nice warm days, which would see these nestboxes full of eggs for the male Trout Cod to guard. The team will be able to harvest these wild eggs and take them back
