But in what can only be described as a true miracle, her 2-year-old baby boy survived entirely alone for days beside her before police arrived. Grateful to be alive, Thomas shared, “Once the lightning bolt struck me, I felt sensations like nothing I’ve ever experienced—tingling, numbness, and a burning sensation.” Despite the shock, he walked away without any burns and took the time to express his gratitude at church on Sunday. “I went to say thank you, God,” he said.
