Young competitors in the Sword dance, Scottish HIghland dancing heats, filmed during the 2024 Dufftown Highland Games. The Games were held at Dufftown in Moray Speyside, the malt Whisky capital of Scotland, on Saturday 27th July 2024. You will note competitors pay careful attention to their feet and placement throughout this dance. It is an ancient dance, known as the 'Ghillie Callum', and is said to date back to King Malcolm Canmore (Shakespear’s MacBeth). #dufftown #dufftownhighlandgames #high
